The Secret of the NANO

Two open cubes with large LED lights dancing in a pond in front of the new Van Leeuwenhoek laboratory (VLL) in Delft.

With the long horizontal contours of the building as a backdrop, the cubes lean on each other, holding a perfect balance. Intertwined, just as the TU Delft and TNO are also connected by the joint use of this amazing new building.

Night

At night, the small lights in the artwork become part of the starry skies. When a visitor walks across the bridge, there is a surprise:
a roguish little cube floats In the water. Also equipped with lights, this little diamond is in clear visual relationship to the bigger cubes:
this is the nano, the surprise, the mystery, produced by TU Delft and TNO, product of a scientific quest.
