17 february: Symposium on Integrated Optics

Do you know what Integrated Optics can do for your company? TNO Science and Industry is pleased to invite you to come to the Van Leeuwenhoek Laboratory for nanotechnology on Wednesday, February 17, 2010: the heart of nanotechnology research in the Netherlands.

Innovation with Integrated Optics

Photonics is regarded as one of the most promising technologies of the 21st century. Photons will replace electrons in various applications. Unique new applications in the fields of ICT to Life Sciences will only be possible using Photonic Technologies. Integrated optical circuits or photonic integrated circuits (PICs) will be found in many future products.

Developments in the field of integrated optics are now moving at a fast pace. The current state of manufacturing technology makes the development of sensors and metrology systems for specific applications in market sectors including Automotive, (Aero) Space, Security, Energy, High Precision Medical systems. The opportunities for Integrated Optical Circuits in place of discrete optical and fiber optic systems seem limitless.

The symposium gives the opportunity to see the current status through presentations from National and International speakers.

What does Integrated Optics Mean for You

Do you apply optical technologies in your products or services and question whether integrated optics can assist you:
  • Do you see new applications, but do not know how to apply the technology;
  • Are you looking for unique sensors with the ultimate performance, and wonder whether this can be achieved through integrated optical sensors;
  • Are you are looking for cost reduction and / or mass production of your product and want to know if this is possible with integrated optics.
  • To answer all these and other questions TNO has organized a symposium on Integrated Optics. At TNO we specialize in the translation of optical science and technology into practical solutions. We will show you how to create innovative solutions with integrated optics.
